Brancati Islet

The islet Brancati, or better defined “Isola Piccola”, is an islet that is located just in front of the port of Marzamemi.

The indistinguishable feature is the presence of a dark red house belonging to the family of Raffaele Brancati, a well-known surgeon and academic of the University of Catania.
The island over time has taken the name of Isolotto Brancati just because it was for a period residence of Vitaliano Brancati, cousin of the owner and well-known writer of the twentieth century.
